Have you met our friend ‘Beyonce’?

Named of course for the famed singer, this sultry deep red tulip from Holland has a fringed edge to the petals.  As the flowers puff up and open more the fringe becomes a more prominent feature.

There are several different varietals of fringed tulips in a wide array of color.  Tulips are currently at the start of their peak season.  Like the long-stemmed French tulips or the ruffled and wavy petals of parrot tulips, these harbingers of Spring never fail to entertain.

(A hint for those of you looking for Valentine’s Day ideas… tulips have become a favorite flower for many many people. We’ll have a wide array available, including ‘Beyonce’ if at all possible.)
